Melanie Flores is the Founder and CEO of Optimal Dental Solutions and a seasoned Senior Practice Advisor and trainer with more than 25 years of hands-on dental-practice leadership experience. Her career has progressed through nearly every nonclinical function of a dental office – from file room and front-desk operations to treatment coordination, insurance administration, patient coordination, practice management, consulting, and team development. This broad foundation allows her to evaluate a practice from both the operational and patient-experience perspectives.
Her leadership is grounded in disciplined systems, accountable teams, patient-centered communication, and measurable practice growth. Melanie is known for translating complex operational challenges into clear, workable processes that teams can implement and sustain.
Leadership and Practice Expertise
Throughout her career, Melanie has supported dental practices in Las Vegas, Utah, North Carolina, and California. Her expertise spans practice management, treatment and patient coordination, insurance systems, front- and back-office operations, workflow design, leadership accountability, case presentation, and practice-development consulting. She understands the day-to-day pressures facing dental teams and the systems required to keep a practice organized, productive, financially healthy, and consistently patient-focused.
At ODS, Melanie leads customized remote and on-site training, practice assessments, and management support for treatment coordinators, patient coordinators, insurance coordinators, managers, marketing teams, call center and reservation specialists, and back-office teams. Joe L. Sosa Jr. serves as Executive to the Senior Practice Advisor at Optimal Dental Solutions, working closely with Founder and Senior Practice Advisor Melanie Flores to keep client communications, practice initiatives, training coordination, and day-to-day operations organized and moving forward.
Known for his reliability, attention to detail, and collaborative approach, Joe helps ensure that ODS delivers a professional, responsive experience for dental leaders and their teams.

Joseph M. Yracheta
ODS Partner| Biomedical Scientist and Indigenous Data Sovereignty Advocate
Joseph M. Yracheta is an Amerindigenous scientist of P’urhepecha and Raramuri heritage from Mexico. He serves with the Native BioData Consortium within the Cheyenne River Lakota Nation in South Dakota and brings more than three decades of experience across biomedical science, ethics, and public-health research.
As an ODS partner, Joseph brings a research-informed perspective to data stewardship, health equity, prevention, and the responsible use of emerging health information to support stronger long-term outcomes for patients and communities.
Scientific and Public Health Leadership
Mr. Yracheta began his scientific career in 1990 as a bench biotechnician and has worked across numerous biomedical disciplines. He earned a Master of Pharmaceutics and Bioethics from the University of Washington, Seattle, in 2014, under Drs. Ken Thummel and Wylie Burke. He is completing a Doctor of Public Health in Environmental Health and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University under Drs. Ana Navas-Acien and Paul Locke.
His work advances Indigenous Data Sovereignty through research spanning law, ethics, policy, genomics, omics, epidemiology, health outcomes, health care prevention and intervention, and the reduction of harms created by systemic racism. At ODS, this expertise informs oral-systemic research, including research around oral DNA testing and periodontal health. Joseph views data and resources as future-facing assets whose value changes over time, and he advocates for their responsible stewardship to strengthen Indigenous economic and cultural sustainability.
